My Char-Broil TRU Infrared grill is my go-to piece of equipment for busy weeknights. The infrared saves gas, heats more quickly than a conventional grill, features totally even heat (no hot spots), and sears meat more quickly to lock in juices. And when I’m done, I just run a wire grill brush over the grates and it’s clean and ready for the next outdoor adventure. If you want to order one through the Char-Broil site, click here for a 25 percent discount. Just use the promotional code C13CM25.
By the way, for all my friends, Facebook and otherwise (or even people I hardly know), if you plan on buying a Char-Broil grill featured on their website (not a link to Lowe’s or Home Depot), let me know and I’ll post a link to what you want to order with the promo code for 25 percent off.
I’m buying my first grill and had my eye on the TRU infrared after reading Consumer Reports’ praises. Neighbor says infrared is no good for fish, thoough — too hard to control the heat. Can you share your experience with seafood?
Thanks for the question. I cook seafood on my TRU Infrared all the time. The heat is easy to control, no matter what you’re grilling. That’s what infrared cooking is all about – even heat. I do shrimp, salmon and other firm-fleshed fish right on the grill, but for more delicate fish I will either use a grill pan or my cast iron skillet! You will love your Char-Broil TRU Infrared, I promise.
